Counselling in Portsmouth And Waterlooville
People come to counselling for a wide range of issues. They often feel overwhelmed by their emotional feelings. Counselling offers you the opportunity to deal with these feelings in a safe, supported environment. It can offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment in which to address your issues objectively with encouragement and support by a trained professional.
Counselling is a journey of self-awareness and acceptance that can help us to deal with relationship difficulties and the pressures and difficulties of life. A counsellor is a trained listener, but a good counsellor however, will help us to see and understand the process by which we can become trapped in our own issues. I work with people who want to talk about a particular issue, work through difficult feelings, emotions, personal development and people who want to gain more personal awareness. I work with the whole person, not only the presenting issues..
As a counsellor I have gained valuable insight of working with individuals who have experienced addiction, drugs, alcohol and food and I usually work with past events which may have impacted on your feelings, emotions and behaviour in the present or "here and now". This will help me to gain some in-depth knowledge of you as a person and what has been going on for you. This work will link how the past effects the present day and what you may wish to change.
A counselling session is one hour and the number of sessions depends on you. I am able to offer both daytime and evening appointments at a cost of £30.00 per session. I am able to offer concessions for counselling students.
